The 2020 Honda HR-V rolls into the new year with no significant updates.
The 2020 HR-V comes in five trim levels: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L and Touring. Each offers an extremely competitive list of features for a compact crossover. All Honda HR-V trim levels are powered by an efficient 1.8L 4-cylinder engine, which produces 141 horsepower and 127 lb-feet of torque. From there, power is sent to the front wheels through an automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT) that alters gear ratios on the fly, allowing for infinitely adjustable gear ratios to optimize fuel economy. All-wheel drive is an option should buyers need it and comes standard on the new Touring model.
The LX comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth connectivity, a rearview backup camera, a 160-watt sound system with speed-sensitive volume control, a 5-inch color LCD screen, an auxiliary input jack, a tilt and telescoping steering wheel, a second-row power outlet and a 60/40 folding rear seat.
The Sport trim adds Sport exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels, black exterior trim accents, dual-mode paddle shifters, leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, 7-inch touchscreen display, roof rails, fog lights and a body-colored rear spoiler.
The HR-V EX adds a ton of standard features to the HR-V while only adding a couple thousand dollars to the base price. The EX trim comes with a 7-inch touchscreen display, heated front seats, a one-touch power moonroof, a multi-angle rearview parking camera, heated mirrors, smart entry with walk away auto lock, push-button start and a little bit of extra chrome on both the interior and exterior. Additionally, the EX trim comes standard with the Honda Sensing suite of safety and driver-assistance features.
The EX-L builds upon the EX by also offering a leather-lined interior, 180-watt audio system with SiriusXM satellite radio, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, roof rails, auto-dimming electronic mirror and 17-inch silver alloy wheels.
The new Touring trim brings the most in performance, convenience and styling to the HR-V. Real time all-wheel drive is standard, giving drivers on road performance for all road conditions. Exterior styling includes body-colored underbody spoilers, LED headlights and LED fog lights. Interior features include an 8-way power adjustable driver seat, satellite-linked navigation system and HomeLink remote system.
Safety features on the HR-V range include anti-lock brakes, traction control and stability control, as well as a hill start feature and a tire pressure monitoring system. The HR-V is equipped with dual-stage front airbags, front side airbags and a side curtain airbag.
